Major RTC on A48 brings traffic to a stand-still

A devastating multi-vehicle collision has brought chaos to the A48 eastbound between Carmarthen, Cross Hands, and Llanddarog, with emergency services including the Air Ambulance rushed to the scene near Foelgastell.

The crash, which involved three vehicles, has resulted in the closure of both carriageways, causing gridlock and significant delays as holidaymakers make their way to the west coast for the weekend.

Frustrated motorists, including families with children and pets, are stuck in the traffic jam, unable to move until the emergency services complete their operation to rescue those involved and render assistance.

At this stage, the number of people injured is unknown, though from the Air Ambulance being on scene we can assume that one or more of the people involved is seriously injured. Authorities are working to clear the wreckage and restore traffic flow as soon as possible.
