Ten Towns Pop-Up Project launched in Carmarthenshire

Are you a food business that would be interested in trialing your goodies in Whitland or Llandovery? Carmarthenshire County Council’s Ten Towns Pop-Up Shops/Meanwhile Spaces Project has secured pop-up space on St John Street in Whitland and King’s Road in Llandovery which can opened up to give local businesses the chance to trial a bricks and mortar space at a low cost in a new project funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.

The project aims to address the number of vacant properties across the county’s ten rural market towns and will run until November 2024.

The units will be free to rent with no business rates applied. Businesses can register their interest in a space on the project website at meanwhileincarmarthenshire.co.uk.

Llanelli-based placemaking consultancy, The means, has been commissioned to lead the project. The means boasts over 30 years of expertise in economic development and area-based management that promotes community involvement, wellbeing, economic recovery, sustainability, and growth.

Carmarthenshire’s Ten Towns initiative aims to support the economic recovery and growth of rural towns across the County. The ten towns include Cross Hands, Cwmamman, Kidwelly, Laugharne, Llandeilo, Llandovery, Llanybydder, Newcastle Emlyn, St Clears, and Whitland.
