A Farmer in Ceredigion has lost approximately seventy-five ewe lambs in the Rhydlewis area of Ceredigion, leading to speculation that they may have been stolen. A friend of the farmer has taken to social media in hopes that the ewe lambs might be safely returned to the farm.
The police have been contacted as a result of the speculated theft and authorities are believed to be working on tracking down whoever might be responsible. The ewe lambs have been double tagged with yellow and pink EiD (electronic identification) tags with individual numbers for each lamb.
Dyfed-Powys Police has issued the following statement regarding the incident:
Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating after the theft of approximately 75 sheep from a farm in Newcastle Emlyn.
The lamb yearling ewes have gone missing from the Rhydlewis area.
The theft is believed to have taken place sometime between March 7 and March 17, 2025.
The sheep are described as being white faced with clean white wool with a faint yellow spot on them. They have the appearance of a continental cross ewe similar to a Texel cross.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and remains in police custody.
