Theft of two candles and chocolate bars lands 33-year-old woman in prison

33-year-old Bridgette Evans appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (Aug 18) charged with theft.

The court heard that on 17/08/2022 at Llanelli, Evans stole two candles and chocolate bars, to the value of £20.72, belonging to Asda. Contrary to section 1(1) and 7 of the Theft Act 1968.

Evans pleaded guilty to the offence.

Evans was committed to prison for 4 weeks consecutive to another offence number making an overall length of sentence of 20 weeks.

Evans was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £154.00 and costs of £85.00 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
