House Fire on Horeb Road, Kidwelly

At 3.10pm on Friday, August 2nd, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Kidwelly, Pontiets, Llanelli, Carmarthen and Port Talbot Fire Stations were called to an incident along Horeb Road in Kidwelly.

Crews responded to a single storey detached domestic property, measuring approximately 20m x 8m, that was well alight on arrival. Crews utilised two main jets, two hose reel jets and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and dampen down hotspots. Parts of the property were left to smoulder due to unreachable hotspots.

The property was reinspected early on Saturday, August 3rd, during which deep-seated hotspots were discovered and crews utilised one hose reel jet and one thermal imaging camera to dampen down. The property was expected to smoulder and give off smoke for some time. The property was significantly damaged due to the fire.

This incident required a multi-agency response with the Ambulance Service and National Grid also in attendance.

All persons were accounted for. One casualty was treated by on-scene paramedics and conveyed to hospital by road ambulance.
