Carmarthenshire young gymnast taking sport by storm

A YOUNG gymnast from Mynydd y Garreg is taking the sport by storm by winning competitions at national level.

8-year-old Zyiah Onoh who is a pupil at Ysgol Mynydd y Garreg and attends Carmarthenshire school of gymnastics in cross hands competed in Deeside on May 28th and is presently Welsh Club Cup Series Champion – Level 3 boys 9-10.

Last year he was overall Welsh champion for boys Level 3 in the Welsh Tumbling R&C league winning three golds.

Zyiah is very dedicated to the sport and trains 9 hours a week. He is now training towards his next competition at the end of September where he is hoping to retain his title of overall Welsh Champion in his age category.

He is certainly one to watch and we will be following his progress closely.
