Free Trees At Community Centres

The Welsh Government and Coed Cadw, the Woodland Trust in Wales, are offering trees to households in Wales, free of charge.

It is hoped that the  trees will help tackle the effects of climate change and will also contribute to the National Forest for Wales.

The Idea of planting a tree to help combat pollution and climate change is not a new one as 50 years ago Welsh local councils ran similar campaigns in 1973 and 1974, which were successful.

The big difference this time is that you can collect a tree yourself from a local pick-up point ; have one posted to you, or if you don’t have a garden or are unable to plant one then one can be planted on your behalf by completing an online form.

If you wish to take part in the scheme you can collect a tree from Paddock Street Community Centre on Sat 3rd Dec and 17th Dec between 12 noon and 4 pm where experts will be on hand to advise on planting and how to look after your tree.
