Neath Port Talbot services affected by the bank holiday Sept 19

FOLLOWING news that a national bank holiday will be held on Monday September 19 to mark the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, local councils right across Wales have began announcing a number of cancelled services and closed facilities.

From public places like leisure centres and schools, to services such as waste collection and funerals, here are all of the local council services that will be  impacted in Neath Port Talbot on the day.

There will be no refuse collections in Neath Port Talbot on Monday 19 September including black bag and bin waste, nappies, absorbent hygiene products or garden waste. These collections will be one day late next week. Normal collections will resume from Monday 26 th September.

In addition, there will be no recycling collections on Monday 19. These will be made on Monday 26th September instead, but from Tuesday 20 th September onwards recycling collections will remain as normal.

All council venues, including Port Talbot and Neath Civic Centres, recycling centres, libraries, public toilets and Neath Register Office will be closed to the public for the day, as well as all schools.

Margam Country Park car park and facilities will be closed but there will be access for pedestrian visitors. Margam Crematorium grounds will remain open to enable the public to visit graves and pay tributes to loved ones. No services had been scheduled due to essential maintenance work.

Ornamental Gardens and Memorial Parks in Neath Port Talbot will open as usual. The gates to Gnoll Estate Country Park will open and close at the usual times, but the visitor centre and toilets will be closed all day.
