New art gallery launches in Llanelli

Y Ty Celf – The Art House had their official launch of their new gallery at No. 1 John street a former estate agent’s offices in  Llanelli on Friday (July 1). It is a non profit organisation and it receives various grants for community based programs.

There was a good  turn out of guests from VIP’s to those visitors browsing the wonderful art works and bespoke products on display.

The Artists were there to meet and chat with the guests and offer first hand explanations about their work.

A film crew from Heno filmed the new gallery early that morning and interviewed the board members and artists.

Artists displaying their work include Ruth Jayne Lewis, Patricia McParlin, Katy Lewis, Melanie Kanz, Adele Alafakis, Deborah Chapman, Karen Thomas, Ruth Jones, Ursula Nash, Sian Evans, Hannah Thomas and Oksana Stasiene.

The launch was a great success and gallery staff are now looking forward to welcoming you to the gallery.

The opening times of Y Ty Celf are Wednesday to Saturday 10-4pm. There is a lot on offer including original paintings, pottery, sculptures, ceramics, candles and cards, much of it having been inspired by local landscapes and utilising some local materials.

There are also some homemade products such as jams, chutneys and honey on offer.
