Pamela Pritchard, who joined the force as a trainee in 2023, was accused of making unwanted physical contact with several colleagues during a leaving party at Caernarfon Rugby Club in March 2024. The allegations included inappropriate touching of both male and female colleagues and an attempt to kiss a fellow officer without consent.
During the hearing, witnesses described the contact as unsolicited and inappropriate. CCTV footage presented at the proceedings showed Pritchard engaging in behaviour on the dance floor that included raising her hand towards a male colleague’s groin, prompting him to recoil. Pritchard stated that she remembered little of the night and expressed remorse, describing herself as mortified after seeing the footage.
The disciplinary panel found all allegations to be proven and concluded that Pritchard’s actions amounted to gross misconduct. She was dismissed from North Wales Police without notice and will be placed on the police barred list.
The panel, chaired by the Assistant Chief Constable of North Wales Police and two independent lay members, emphasised that the severity and nature of the conduct warranted the highest level of disciplinary action. Pritchard’s legal representation had requested a final written warning, describing the incident as a one-off episode rather than part of a pattern of misconduct. The panel rejected this argument, citing the serious nature of the behaviour and the breach of professional standards.
During the hearing, Pritchard acknowledged the impact of the allegations on her family and expressed deep regret for her actions. The proceedings were held publicly with remote access available to ensure transparency in the disciplinary process.
North Wales Police has reiterated its commitment to maintaining professional standards and ensuring accountability for all officers, emphasising that inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated in any circumstances.
