High Speed Chase injures Police Officer and writes off Police Vehicle

On Thursday May 23, 2024, Caleb Ayodele, 27 from Barnet in London entered the force area in a cloned BMW. The car was then stung by officers whilst driving down the A48 Eastern Avenue in Pentwyn and a pursuit ensued.

During the pursuit Ayodele can be seen weaving towards officers, whilst driving with punctured tyres. He caused damage to two police cars, with one of them later being written off. One officer sustained an injury which required surgery.

After using specialised tactics officers boxed in Ayodele forcing him to come to a complete stop. He then locked himself in the car and laughed at officers whilst they tried to break the glass.

Ayodele was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, driving without a license, driving without insurance and failing to stop for police.

He appeared in court the following day where he pleaded guilty to all offences and was remanded in custody for sentencing.

On Tuesday October 1, 2024, at Cardiff Crown Court, Ayodele received a 14-month prison sentence and a two-year disqualification with an extended driving test required.  He also received a fine and court costs.
