Welsh Government issues statement on planned industrial action

The Welsh Government has issued a statement on planned industrial action.

Education and Welsh Language Minister Jeremy Miles said:

“The decision not to proceed with strike action next week is good news for pupils, parents, carers and staff. We also welcome that NEU and NAHT have agreed to take the new pay offer to their members and representatives. Discussions over recent weeks have been productive, where we have made good progress on issues such as reducing staff workload and supporting wellbeing. I would like to thank everyone who has participated in these constructive negotiations.”

Dywedodd Gweinidog y Gymraeg ac Addysg, Jeremy Miles: “Mae’r penderfyniad i beidio â bwrw ymlaen â’r streic yr wythnos nesaf yn newyddion da i ddisgyblion, rhieni, gofalwyr a staff. Rydyn ni hefyd yn croesawu’r ffaith bod yr Undeb Addysg Cenedlaethol a’r NAHT wedi cytuno i gyflwyno’r cynnig cyflog newydd i’w haelodau a’u cynrychiolwyr. Mae’r trafodaethau dros yr wythnosau diwethaf wedi bod yn gynhyrchiol, ac rydym wedi symud ymlaen yn dda iawn ar faterion fel lleihau llwyth gwaith staff a chefnogi lles. Rwy’ am ddiolch i bawb sydd wedi cymryd rhan yn y trafodaethau adeiladol hyn.”
