Free Life-Saving courses are being offered to motorcyclists across Carmarthenshire.
Bikers often ride in pairs or groups, meaning the first person at the scene of a crash is usually another rider. Biker Down!, delivered by Operational Firefighters and the Fire Bike Team at Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, is designed to reduce deaths and serious injuries among motorcyclists.
The course covers three key modules:
- Managing an Accident Scene, how to secure and control a collision site safely
- First Aid, essential immediate care for injured riders
- The Science of Being Seen, understanding visibility and avoiding collisions
Participants gain practical knowledge on what to do when encountering a road traffic collision and how to manage it confidently and safely.
Cost: Thanks to Welsh Government Road Safety Grant funding, the course is free of charge, and attendees receive a free first aid kit on completion.
