A Flintshire-based football club’s female coaching set-up is going from strength to strength thanks to key sponsorship from a PR and communications agency.
The partnership between Mold Alex and Outwrite PR is heading into its second season, with funding supporting the launch of an entirely new under-9s girls’ squad while also helping young people gain valuable coaching qualifications.
The new team, which welcomes girls from school years 3 and 4, will be led by Ava Roberts, one of the young female coaches who has benefited from the partnership, providing her with the opportunity to put her coaching experience and qualifications into practice.
The alliance was created with the long-term vision of developing the women and girls’ section of the club, backing its mission to grow and creating a clear pathway for both players and coaches.
Ava said: “This is a really exciting next step for me, transitioning from an assistant to a head coach for a team of my own.
“My confidence and communication skills have grown a lot since I first started, with me now organising sessions and adapting to situations that don’t always go to plan, and I’ve become a better coach through this.
“I really enjoy helping run the sessions, with the best part being seeing how much the girls enjoy taking part, and I am incredibly proud to play a part in their continued development.
“I can’t wait to create a positive environment around the team where the girls feel comfortable trying new things, making mistakes and building a team where we can all make some great memories.
“Watching the youngsters learn and try new things, making the activities enjoyable and accessible for everyone, and seeing their confidence grow are the most rewarding parts for me.
Ava has completed her FAW emergency first aid and introduction to coaching football courses and is keen to continue developing her knowledge and experience as she progresses along her coaching pathway.
Mold Alex’s 20 strong Girls Fun Football sessions have also benefited greatly from the sponsorship,
Aimed at years one to six, the group have been provided with new equipment, including flat disc markers, multi coloured cones and first aid kits, alongside new training gear brandishing the agency’s logo.
Mold Alexandra FC coach Joe Couchman said: “The support provided by Outwrite has been crucial in expanding Girls Fun Football, making it accessible to primary school youngsters of all ages, creating a space where they can challenge themselves, learn new skills, and make new friends.
“It’s thanks to the agency that we can support the next generation of young coaches, helping them build their confidence and gain valuable experience as they take their first steps towards becoming fully qualified.
“Without this type of generosity, these opportunities for developing young talent in the local area wouldn’t be possible.”
Managing director of Outwrite PR Anthony Bullick said: “From the outset, this partnership has been about more than providing equipment. We wanted to invest in young coaches by giving them the opportunity to get the qualifications they need to progress.
“It’s really encouraging to see that the investment is already making a difference and helping to create a stronger pathway for women and girls’ football in Mold.”
Outwrite’s clients include Wynne Construction, Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, Warrington-based Watsons Solicitors, and engineering, environmental, and planning consultancy Caulmert.
The agency specialises in integrated PR, stakeholder communications, crisis PR, and online reputation management.
