Port Talbot man jailed on domestic violence offences

A man from the Neath Port Talbot area has been jailed following conviction for multiple domestic violence offences.

33-year-old Michael White, from Neath Abbey, has been sentenced to three years in prison following the assaults, which took place over a period of more than a year.

Police Constable Ellen Green said: “Michael White has rightfully been jailed after he carried out assaults on his victim on many occasions, leaving them with injuries.

“Tackling violence against women and girls is a priority for us at South Wales Police. Nobody should suffer in silence – this behaviour will not be tolerated.”

You’re not Alone

Domestic abuse can affect anyone regardless of ethnicity, age, gender, sexuality or social background.

If you are suffering from physical, sexual, psychological or financial abuse, or are being threatened, intimidated or stalked by a current or previous partner or close family member, it’s likely you’re a victim of domestic abuse.

You’re not to blame for what’s happening. You’re not alone.

You can report it to us or, if you’re not ready to speak to the police, you can contact support organisations who will help you.
