Families across Swansea are invited to enjoy a day of free fun as National Play Day is celebrated at the National Waterfront Museum on Wednesday 5 August.
Taking place between 11am and 2pm, the event will be packed with activities designed to inspire creativity, imagination and active play for children of all ages.
Highlights include circus skills and interactive games from Circus Eruption, featuring a giant Earth Ball and lively parachute games. There will also be arts and crafts, den building, walkabout characters, face painting and Welsh rhyme time sessions.
Visitors can explore a range of information stalls, enjoy live music and take part in a variety of activities delivered by Swansea Council’s Play Sufficiency Team and a number of local play partners.
All activities are free, making it a great opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the importance of play in children’s lives.
A quieter hour will take place between 10am and 11am for children who prefer a calmer environment with reduced noise and stimulation. This aims to ensure the event is inclusive and welcoming for as many families as possible.
Councillor Alyson Anthony, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families, said: “Play is such an important part of childhood, helping children build confidence, develop social skills and simply have fun. National Play Day is a fantastic opportunity for families to come together and enjoy a wide range of activities in a safe and welcoming environment. I’d encourage everyone to come along and be part of the celebrations.”
