A new set of computer-generated images shows how Swansea’s transformed Castle Square Gardens will look when work is completed.
Produced for Swansea Council by scheme architects ACME, the images provide the latest visual representation of the scheme as construction continues. The square is due to reopen around next summer.
Work is progressing well, with foundation construction among the key stages now underway thanks to main contractor Knights Brown.
Council leader Rob Stewart said: “These images provide an exciting glimpse of a greener, more welcoming city centre destination.”
The scheme will create a more attractive city centre space, with new opportunities for events, socialising and relaxation. Features will include two new pavilions, a large outdoor screen and a playful water feature.
ACME founding director Friedrich Ludewig said: “We’re thrilled that the vision for a greener square in the heart of Swansea is starting to take shape.”
The project forms part of the council’s £1bn regeneration programme; it’ll help create a vibrant city centre focal point with an increased amount of greenery, improved accessibility and facilities for entertainment.
