Man Arrested on Suspicion of Dangerous Driving Following E-Bike Collision

South Wales Police were called to Amroth Road just after 8.30pm last night (Tuesday, August 11) to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and e-bike.

The pedestrian was an on-duty police officer.

He was conducting patrols as part of a plain-clothes operation in response to community concerns about the illegal and anti-social use of high-powered electric bikes.

The officer was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, but fortunately has no serious injuries.

A 25-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without a licence and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
Several items have been seized as part of the investigation including bags of cannabis, approximately £700 cash, and Sur-Ron bike.

The suspect remains in custody and inquiries are on-going.
