Police Launch Murder Investigation following discovery of Corinna Baker

A murder investigation is under way in West Wales after 21-year-old Corinna Baker was found dead at a boat yard in Cardigan, prompting police appeals for information and the arrest of a 29-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

Body Discovered at Netpool Boat Yard

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that officers were called to Netpool Boat Yard on the River Teifi at approximately 12:35 pm on Saturday, 15 November 2025, where Baker’s body was discovered.

The location remained cordoned off throughout the weekend as forensic teams worked at the scene.

Arrest Made as Investigation Continues

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody as detectives examine the circumstances surrounding Baker’s death. Police have not yet confirmed a cause of death, and no charges have been formally announced.

Detective Superintendent Wayne Bevan said that specially trained officers are supporting Baker’s family during the investigation.

Family Pays Tribute

Baker’s family described her as a deeply loved young woman. In a tribute, her sister Caitlyn wrote: “Heaven has the most beautiful, funny, stubborn angel entering the gates.”

Her relatives have requested privacy as they grieve.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Investigators are urging anyone who was in the Netpool Boat Yard area from around 9 pm on Thursday, 13 November to come forward with information that might assist the inquiry.

Investigation Ongoing

Police have not released details about Baker’s movements prior to her death, any possible relationship between the suspect and the victim, or potential motives. Forensic analysis and post-mortem results are expected to play a key role in establishing the timeline of events.

Authorities say that “any information, no matter how minor, could be vital” as the investigation continues.
