Wales Netball has today confirmed the athletes selected to represent Team Wales at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games this summer, with a dynamic blend of experience and emerging talent set to compete on the international stage.
The squad will travel to Glasgow for the XXIII Commonwealth Games, taking place from 23 July to 2 August, as Wales looks to build on previous performances and showcase the strength and depth of its national programme.
The selected squad reflects the continued progression of the Welsh Feathers programme, combining experienced internationals with a new generation of athletes who have progressed through Wales Netball’s performance pathway.
Among those selected are established internationals including Bethan Dyke, who brings extensive Commonwealth Games experience, having competed at three previous Games, and Georgia Rowe, a proven shooting threat with two Games appearances and a track record of high performance at both domestic and international level.
They are joined by a number of rising stars from across the Wales Netball pathway, including athletes currently competing within NXT Gen programmes and national age-group environments. These players represent the next generation of Welsh netball talent, with many progressing through U17, U19 and U21 squads and gaining valuable international experience at youth tournaments.
Team Wales, Netball Head Coach, Emily Handyside said: “This is an incredibly exciting moment for everyone involved in Wales Netball. The group selected reflects the dedication, resilience and talent we have within our programme. We have a squad that blends experience with youth, and we’re looking forward to seeing them represent Wales on one of the biggest stages in sport.”
The Glasgow 2026 Games will see Wales compete against the world’s top netball nations, with pool matches taking place between 25–30 July against netball powerhouses New Zealand and Jamaica, both among the world’s leading nations in women’s netball, before progressing to classification and medal matches in the final stages of the competition.
Sarah Boswell, Chief Executive of Wales Netball, added: “Being selected to represent Team Wales at a Commonwealth Games is one of the greatest honours in our sport, and I would like to congratulate every athlete named in this squad.
“This group reflects the talent, resilience and ambition of Welsh netball today. Each player has earned this opportunity through their commitment, hard work and determination, and we are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
“As they prepare to wear the red dress in Glasgow, I know they will represent Wales with passion, pride and professionalism. They carry with them not only the hopes of our netball community but the support of their families, friends, coaches and everyone who has helped them reach this moment. We wish them every success as they take to the court on the Commonwealth stage.”
