One person hospitalised following fire on Picton Terrace

Emergency services attended a fire on Picton Terrace on Monday (Sep 4).

The fire broke out at approximately 6pm at a property near Carmarthen Park.

The ambulance service and the Wales Air Ambulance Service were sent to the incident in which one person was taken to hospital.

A fire crew from Carmarthen attended the scene and used breathing apparatus sets, a thermal imaging camera and one hose reel jet while fighting the flames. One person escaped the property by jumping from the first floor.

The Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service said that all occupants of the property had been accounted for. The roads were re-opened late on Monday evening.

Dyfed-Powys Police has said an investigation into the circumstances of the fire is ongoing.
