Father and son paedophiles jailed for grooming and abusing vulnerable child

Two men who groomed and sexually abused a vulnerable child  have been given a jail sentence at Swansea Crown Court.

The court heard that the two men, father and son, Roy Lockett of Pembrey Road, Llanelli a former driving instructor and Peter Austin of Pant y Celyn, Llanelli  a former rugby coach sexually abused a vulnerable young girl.

The court heard that Lockett had initially targeted the child and subjected her to a lengthy period of abuse.

The child had to give evidence in court as the pair denied the offences.

The court heard that Lockett had plied the child with alcohol and subjected her to abuse using items from his large collection of sex toys. Lockett also made indecent images of the child.

The judge said that Lockett had used the child as his ‘sexual plaything’ before handing her over to his son as ‘a prize’ to continue the abuse.

Lockett had previously been convicted of three counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, causing a child to watch a sexual act, two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, and making an indecent photograph of a child and had previously pleaded guilty to causing a child to engage in sexual activity and two counts of engaging in sexual communications with a child when he appeared in the dock for sentencing. Austin had previously been convicted at trial of five counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child when he appeared in court on Tuesday (Nov 21).
