Llanelli Chamber Choir to perform ‘The Creation’ in September

With their very first rehearsal in October 2021, Llanelli Chamber Choir is one of the latest additions to the musical landscape of Llanelli Town and its outskirts. What had started as a mere vision of a local choir dedicated to performing wonderful classical music soon became a reality under the musical direction of Piet Zorn.

The momentum was just right, as there had not been a classical choir in Llanelli for a while. Their first choral work, John Stainer’s romantic oratorio ‘The Crucifixion’, was very well received by the audience.

Llanelli Chamber Choir are regular guests at Summer and Christmas concerts with LARS (Loud Applause Rising Stars), which have offered wonderful experiences for the choir.

Following “The Crucifixion,” the choir has also performed great works such as Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem” and Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana.”

They are now preparing for their performance of Haydn’s “The Creation” in September.
