Protestors accuse police of brutality as arrests continue at Stradey Park Hotel

Protestors at the Stradey Park Hotel in Llanelli have accused the police of brutality following the arrest of a woman on a road close to the venue today, Sunday (Jul 9). In a video supplied by a bystander the woman can be clearly seen in distress as she is surrounded by police officers attempting to handcuff her. At one point the woman can be seen being pushed against a vehicle with her head making contact.

Other protestors gathered around shouting and screaming for the police to leave the woman alone. One by stander who did not wish to be named said that they had already reported the incident.

Protests have continued through the weekend and it is expected that they will continue during the period when the asylum seekers arrive at the hotel.

Large numbers of police were present today along with a private security firm.

The following video contains some distressing images.

Dyfed-Powys Police have been contacted for comment.
