The notice, issued under section 77(1) of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, directs all occupants to vacate the unoccupied land immediately and remove all vehicles and belongings. The council states that the individuals are residing in vehicles on the site, which is part of the authority’s landholding.
The order requires the occupants to leave “forthwith” and warns that failure to do so could result in prosecution. Anyone who leaves but returns with a vehicle within three months from 6 August 2025 risks committing a criminal offence. A conviction could carry a fine of up to £1,000.
The Delta Lakes area, earmarked for the major Pentre Awel wellness and life science development, has previously attracted attention over unauthorised encampments. The council has not yet commented publicly on whether alternative sites have been offered to those affected.
