Tumble Fire Station’s Charity Car Wash Raises Over £1,300

On Saturday, June 20th, Firefighters from Tumble Fire Station held a Charity Car Wash in support of two important causes.

Held at the Leekes Department Store Cross Hands’ car park, the crew worked tirelessly throughout the day, washing vehicles and engaging with members of the community. Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, the event raised a fantastic amount of just over £1,300, which will be shared equally between two very worthy causes:

Liwsi Our Brave Little Light

Two-year-old Liwsi lives with two extremely rare genetic conditions – Cri du Chat Syndrome and an Xq28 Duplication Translocation.

Both conditions are rare on their own, but having the two together is so rare that Liwsi is currently believed to be the only known child in the world with this exact combination. As a result, she requires a range of specialist treatments and equipment to support her development and daily care.

The Fire Fighters Charity

The Fire Fighters Charity delivers specialist, lifelong clinical care, physical rehabilitation, and mental health support to serving and retired Fire and Rescue Service personnel, and their families.

Their work ensures that those who dedicate their lives to protecting others receive the support they need during times of injury, illness, or personal hardship.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Tumble Fire Station extend their thanks to Leekes Department Store Cross Hands, McDonald’s Cross Hands and Castell Howell for their generous support.
