At 2:30pm on Monday (Apr 17) emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the M4 westbound between J36 and J37.
A Mercedes Sprinter van had collided with the central reservation.
As a result of the collision, a 44-year-old man from Cardiff has died.
The man’s family has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The motorway reopened at around 10.30pm. Motorists are thanked for their patience and understanding during the road closure.
