It was a huge weekend for Sara after winning Can I Gymru live on S4C from Arena Abertawe on Friday night before heading to London to perform to some of the biggest names in the film industry.

Originally from Old Colwyn, she now lives in Llandysul and is a Music, Drama and Wellbeing teacher at Ysgol Henry Richard in Tregaron.

After performing at BAFTA Cymru’s celebrations, which were held at their BAFTA Headquarters in London, Sara Davies said:

“ I felt extremely lucky and excited to be able to sing at the event in front such big names of the film industry – it was an absolute privilege and honou. It was also lovely for them to hear my songs in the Welsh language. A big thank you to BAFTA Cymru for inviting me and for appreciating and giving a platform to Welsh music at events outside Wales. Performing as this years Can i Gymru winner was really special, and I loved telling everyone at the event about the competition and its cultural importance.”

After releasing her first song ‘Robin Goch’ which was chosen as Track of the Week on BBC Radio Cymru last year, Sara is now working on her first album which will be released later this year. Her Can i Gymru winning song, ‘Ti’ will be released at 5pm on Friday, March 8th.
