Drug dealer jailed for over seven years

Vincent Richards, 36, appeared at Merthyr Crown Court on Thursday (9 March) where he was sentenced for supplying drugs.

After arresting a suspect as part of a separate investigation, officers seized a phone which contained messages sent from Richards that subsequently linked him to the supply of Class A drugs to Ferndale and surrounding Rhondda areas.

Detectives from the Mid Glamorgan Organised Crime Unit arrested Richards, from Llandough, on 7 February 2023. He was charged and remanded.

He was sentenced to seven years and six months for supplying Class A drugs – crack cocaine and cocaine and Class B drugs – cannabis.

Our officers work tirelessly to keep the area safe for residents, and this case is just one example of how we are tackling drug dealing in the community.
