“Emergency Resilience Fund can be the difference for local businesses” says Llanelli MS

Lee Waters, Llanelli’s Member of the Senedd, is encouraging local businesses to take advantage of the financial support made available by the Welsh Government.

Eligible businesses in the retail, hospitality, leisure and tourism sectors that were affected during alert level 2 can apply for grants of between £2,500 to £25,000 from the Welsh Government’s Economic Resilience Fund (ERF). Grants are dependent on business size and number of employees.

Lee Waters MS said:
“Many of our local businesses will have been badly hit during the Omicron wave. The Welsh Government wants to do what it can to support these businesses, which is why it has provided more than £2.5bn funding since the start of the pandemic and helped to protect more than 160,000 Welsh jobs which might otherwise have been lost.”

“I am glad this funding has been made available and hope that businesses in our local community can take advantage of it.”

Lee Waters went on to explain the ERF grant:
“This grant is a Wales only payment for eligible businesses. The funding will support local businesses who have seen who have seen a 60% drop in their income between December and February compared with the same period two years ago.”

“The new criteria means that businesses in certain sectors who have seen a 50% reduction in their turnover will now also be able to access the funding.”
