Police appeal for witnesses following Appeal Miskin dog attack

South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses following a dog attack in Miskin.

Local Policing Inspector Leigh Parfitt said:

“We are investigating a report of a dog attacking another dog and it’s owner on Ffordd Cefn Yr Hendy, Miskin.

“The incident occurred on Wednesday, 10 May between 11am and 12pm.

“Sadly, due to the severity of the injuries, the wounded dog was put down by vets. The incident also left the owner requiring hospital treatment for a small bite wound.
“Enquiries, including CCTV, are ongoing to identify the offender.
“The man is described as being 5ft 9”, slim and could be between 25 and 40 years old. He was wearing grey joggers and a dark blue jacket.
“The dog has been described as bulky, brown coloured, with short hair and around 2.5ft tall.
“Officers are attending a local meeting this evening to offer concerned residents clarity, reassurance and safeguarding advice.
