Police investigate criminal damage to Skewen rugby pitches

South Wales Police is investigating a report of criminal damage to a number of sport pitches at Skewen RFC.

Neighbourhood Inspector Lindsey Sweeney said: “We are aware that motorcycles have ridden across the pitches this weekend causing extensive damage which has impacted on the local community significantly.

“As a result of the criminal behaviour children’s sports fixtures have been cancelled which has understandably caused great anger and upset.

“We are currently pursuing a number of lines of enquiry and the neighbourhood team will work tirelessly to identify those responsible for this mindless act.

“I would encourage the local community to share information with us.”

Operation Loroco oversees our partnership response to combat the issue of off-road bikes being driven illegally, and in an anti-social manner, across Swansea Neath and Port Talbot.
