Search for Welsh ‘sex offender’ focuses on Brighton

SOUTH WALES Police is appealing for information to locate a sex offender who is wanted on warrant for breaching his licence.

Ian Campbell, 40, failed to comply with licence conditions when he was released from prison in 2017.

He’s been on the run from police since, and officers believe that he was once, and may still be, in the Brighton area.

Campbell, who is originally from the Rhondda Cynon Taf area of south Wales, was jailed back in 2016 for possessing indecent images.Sergeant Ben Rowe, said: “He has failed to comply with strict licence conditions and is a wanted man.“

It is concerning that somebody with his offending history is not currently being managed in the community – somebody somewhere will know where he is.“

Our investigations indicate that at some point he visited the Brighton area since he went on the run.“

He could be living and working under an alias, so, our appeal is to anybody in Brighton, and indeed the rest of the UK, to get in touch if they have seen him or if they know where he is.”

Anybody who does have information should contact South Wales Police via 101 quoting reference *226069.

Alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
