New study reveals Llanelli is one of most in demand locations in Wales

A new study has revealed the most in demand locations with buyers around the world, with Llanelli ranking in the top 10 most in-demand locations in Wales.

The property experts at GetAgent conducted the research, which involved combining global searches for “house for sale in [location]” with the number of properties currently available for sale according to Rightmove, to find the locations that are most in demand right now.

Abergavenny, Aberystwyth, and Pontyclun make up the top five most in-demand destinations

Most people have a dream destination they’d love to live in, and with remote and hybrid working becoming more of a reality for many workers, looking to move to a completely new city has become a viable option. Whether it’s dreaming of living in a city far away, or moving to be closer to family, everyone’s dream destination is just a search away.

To reveal which destinations are the most in demand right now, GetAgent looked at the searches for capital cities around the world, as well as the number of properties available in each city, in order to highlight the destinations where people are searching for properties the most, but which also have a limited number available for sale.

Hamilton in Bermuda tops the list as the world’s most lusted after location with an impressive score of 94%, thanks to its high number of average annual searches (486,000) and low number of properties available (just 32). The British island territory is found in the North Atlantic, and Hamilton is a treasure trove for art lovers and foodies.

Coming in second place overall is Seoul, in South Korea, with a lusted-after score of 82%. The city is home to a wealth of culture, impressive food options, fantastic transport services and is a shoppers’ paradise. Monaco followed closely behind as the third most desired capital city in the world, with a score of 81%. With over 50,000 searches on average a year for properties in the city, it’s clear that lots of people are interested in moving to the city, which is notorious for being a haven for the rich and famous.

Colby Short, Co-Founder and CEO of GetAgent comments:

“Houses are in high demand at the moment, often getting snapped up as soon as they hit the market, and sometimes even before that. We know some locations are more in demand than others, and the right property in some towns and cities around the world can be harder to come across. It’s not surprising to see Monaco up there as one of the most lusted after locations globally, as properties are always in high demand and it’s a very exclusive place to live.

When it comes to the UK, it’s interesting that the more traditionally popular cities are not the most lusted after, with the top destinations ranking in our study consisting of towns that offer people a slower, more relaxed pace of life. Over the last couple of years, more and more UK workers are working in hybrid or fully remote roles, allowing them to relocate out of the big cities and into high demand rural locations.

Those looking for their dream property may feel disheartened if they can’t seem to find the right place in their perfect location. But it’s worth remembering that it only takes one person to sell their home at the right time for you to land the house of your dreams. To keep on top of new properties hitting the market, house hunters can monitor property portals such as Zoopla or Rightmove. To increase your chances even further, try building relationships with estate agents in your desired area. They can tell you of any ideal properties that have not yet hit the market.”
