Oasis ‘Ticket Scam’ Operator David Gray Arrested

From Local Hero to Most Wanted Zero, once hailed as a “decent bloke” and the go-to guy for gig tickets in Cardiff, David Gray is now a charged fraudster, accused of pulling off an alleged ticketing scam. Locals say Gray, who operated a well-followed WhatsApp group offering sought-after event tickets, including for the recent Oasis gig in Cardiff, leaving fans and friends high and dry.

Many claim they were convinced by glowing reviews on his group, which painted the picture of a trusted middleman. But now it seems those ticket promises were as empty as his pockets. Gray appeared to have the gift of opening doors for fans to big concerts.

Alleged Drug Issues and a Vanishing Act

Gray’s fall from grace has been the talk of Huddlestone. One resident, speaking from the Speculation Inn revealed that Gray’s life had been ‘unravelling’ for a while. The resident said that the talk at the bar was of a ‘marriage in ruins’ and ‘alleged debts to drug dealers’.

“Word is, he ran off with £50,000 to pay dealers,” said one local. “Next thing, he turns up again like nothing happened, in a camper van, calling the shots in the pub. The Black Sheep, it seems, had returned.” Local and national press set off on a search for Gray but he was nowhere to be found.

Running the Speculation Inn to Running Scared

The Speculation Inn, a 200-year-old gem nestled near Freshwater East, has been dragged into the scandal. Gray’s family, including his brother Chris, were reportedly refurbishing the pub before the drama erupted.

“He was calling the shots around here,” one punter said. “Proper jack-the-lad stuff. Then suddenly, bang, thousands of pounds gone. Folk stopped coming in. It’s a shame. The place was starting to buzz. They had been holding concerts here. The camp site is wonderful. The family have worked hard to try and make something of it and then this.” The talk was that Gray was hiding in a chalet at the rear of the pub. There was no sign of him there when we called.

The same source claimed Gray had resurfaced recently, still living out of his camper van calling the shots again until the long arm of the law finally caught up with him. “He was arrested and is out on bail”, said our source.

Police Involvement

The police, it seems, have been busy. According to one local investigations extended beyond the Speculation Inn to the High Gate pub, where a former associate was allegedly questioned.

David Gray has now been remanded into custody whilst further investigations take place. Dyfed-Powys Police issued the following statement regarding the arrest:

“Dyfed-Powys Police is currently investigating allegations of fraud, following reports of an individual selling fake Oasis Tickets for the recent concerts in Cardiff.

“One man, aged 42, has been arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation and remains in police custody.
Officers continue with their enquires.

Gray’s Welsh Tours  Business Yet to Take Off

In another twist, Gray was allegedly involved in a Welsh tour business, and a local web developer is said to be out of pocket after working on the project. One source said, “The guy’s a walking disaster. He had it all, a family, business, respect.” Companies House has a record of Gray being a director of Explore Hub Ltd and Director of  Tech DG ltd and Director of graphene Networks Ltd.
