Pwll Carnival Committee organised its first Winter Festival in Pwll Pavilion car park on Friday 1st December 2023. This followed on from our first successful Summer Fete and Gala for over thirty years held on Saturday 24th June 2023 in Pwll Park.
As a committee our ultimate aim is to regenerate community spirit in our village of Pwll and the surrounding area.
The event was very well supported by the community even though it was a very cold evening. Santa, Mrs Claus and their Elves toured the village in a sleigh finally arriving at Pwll Pavilion welcomed by the crowd eagerly awaiting them. The evening’s entertainment included carols sung by Pwll Primary School choir, the Llanelli Ukelele Players and carols accompanied by the Llanelli Salvation Army band.
The children enjoyed the fairground rides and a visit to Santa’s Grotto. Mulled wine, mince pies and hotdogs along with food served in the Pavilion cafe were enjoyed by all.
The focal attraction was the lighting up of the Christmas tree, the first in Pwll for many years.
We wish to thank local businesses, local authorities and the community of Pwll for their support. Finally a huge thank you must go to the enthusiastic and hardworking team of volunteers who helped to ensure the event was a success.
