Four charged following house fire in Ferndale

Following the house fire on Protheroe Street, Ferndale during the early hours of yesterday morning four people have been charged.

South Wales Police was called at 1.25am on Monday July 28, with a report of a house fire on Protheroe Street,

As it is a terraced house several neighbouring homes were evacuated by local officers for safety reasons.

Fortunately, despite the ferocity of the fire, there have been no reports of any serious injuries although a few residents were treated for smoke inhalation.

Three men aged 18, 19 and 23 and a 19-year-old woman, all from the Weston-Super-Mare area, have been charged with the following.

  • Auryn Gustar aged 19 charged with arson with intent to endanger life
  • Connor Pitt aged 23 charged with arson with intent to endanger life
  • Storm Truman aged 19 charged with arson with intent to endanger life
  • Alfie Wheeler aged 18 charged with arson with intent to endanger life & possess knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place

All four remain in police custody.
