Special Constables from Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot (SNPT) volunteered over 800 hours through August to tackle local issues.
On Saturday August 29, SNPT special constables rounded up their August activity with a high-visibility operation across Swansea to help tackle anti-social behaviour and drug issues.
The operation, focused on hotspot areas such as Swansea Marina, resulted in 18 incidents being attended, six arrests, four stop searches and a total of 85 hours being volunteered.
Among those incidents were eight high-grade emergency calls, eight reports involving violence, and three incidents of anti-social behaviour.
This operation rounded up a month of activity during August, where the SNPT Special Constabulary volunteered a total of 804 hours and responded to 172 incidents, including:

Attending 93 high-grade emergency calls

Responding to 11% of all attended calls and 40% of all ASB calls in Port Talbot

Being first on the scene to a shop burglary and cannabis factory

Conducting 20 stop searches, 5 of which were positive

Making 20 ASB referrals
Special Inspector Keiron Pike said:
“This operation focused on providing a visible and reassuring presence within our communities, engaging with members of the public and addressing the issues that matter most to local people.
