Three years in prison for Swansea man involved in drug supply

A Swansea man has been jailed for his part in drugs supply into Wales.

Thomas John, aged 26, from Waun Wen, Swansea was arrested by officers from Tarian, the regional organised crime team for southern Wales, in January 2023 and was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court earlier this month to three years in prison.

Evidence, including conversations on his mobile phone, uncovered that John had been distributing Class A drugs to south Wales throughout 2022.

John had previously pleaded guilty to his involvement in the distribution of cocaine, ecstasy and ketamine.

Proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act are underway against John.

Detective Inspector Jason Meadows said:

“I hope that this sentence sends a strong message to those who think they are above the law, and who see drug dealing as a way to make quick and substantial amounts of money.
“It is only a matter of time until people like John are caught and we will work tirelessly, alongside our local police forces and law enforcement agencies across the UK, to ensure that they are.
“We would urge anyone across southern Wales who has information about drug dealing in their communities to contact their local police force or the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Reports can be made via 101, or 999 in an emergency. Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
