Nia Griffith MP issues statement following flooding across Carmarthenshire

Following the unprecedented levels of flooding across Carmarthenshire, Nia Griffith MP of Llanelli has issued the following statement:

“The flooding overnight across parts of Carmarthenshire has caused great distress, disruption and damage in many parts of the area.

 

“My thanks go to the emergency services, the local authority and all those who provided help and support to the individual and communities that needed it.

 

“Once the immediate aftermath of the flooding has been dealt with, it will be important to refocus efforts on how to best tackle what is likely to become, due to climate change, a more frequent and difficult problem over the coming years. 

“In the meantime, if anyone in my Llanelli constituency would like to raise any flood related issues with me or require any further help in the next few days and weeks then I would urge them to contact my office as soon as possible.”
