Plans to temporarily close a Bridgend county borough road have been announced while steelwork repairs are carried out to a local bridge.
They will see a section of Bridgend Road, Maesteg, closed on a number of days across October and November 2026.
A public notice on the closure said the order was in the interest of public safety and would see the closure of approximately 110m of Bridgend Road from the junction with Bridge Street to the junction with Shoemakers Row.
It said: “It is anticipated that the planned works will be undertaken between the hours of 10pm and 6am on October 2 to October 3 and October 26 to October 31 and November 2 to November 7.”
It added: “The alternative route for vehicles is via Bridgend Road, Mill Street, Llwydarth Road, Commercial Street, Talbot Street, and vice versa.
“Access will be provided through the restriction for police, fire, and ambulance services responding to emergencies.”
Pedestrian access to properties in the restricted section of the road will be maintained along defined routes throughout the closure.
