Accident on A40 causes chaos for commuters

An accident on the busy A40 between St Clears and Carmarthen caused chaos for commuters yesterday, Tuesday (Feb 6).

Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a road traffic collision on the A40 westbound just after Carmarthen.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision at about 3pm.

The road was closed, and one lane was reopened at about 3.45pm and the road was fully reopened at 5.45pm.

School buses had to return to local schools for parents to pick up later. A large number of vehicles were diverted into the Carmarthen Show Ground until the road reopened.
