James Mckenna charged with attempted murder following Carmarthen Park Incident

James Mckenna, aged 57, from Carmarthen, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a bladed article in a public place and stalking, following an incident in Carmarthen Park on Thursday, January 29.

For those not up to date with the story, James McKenna was identified as the suspect in a serious attack on a woman in Carmarthen Park in January. The incident occurred in broad daylight, when the victim was stabbed inside the park and managed to escape to raise the alarm. She was taken to hospital for treatment and has since made a full recovery.

Following a large-scale police search, McKenna was arrested and later charged in connection with the attack, including a charge of attempted murder. The case is now progressing through the courts.

He will appear at Llanelli Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday, February 5).
