Donations fund DAB radios and a hamper for Bronglais ward

FUNERAL donations in memory of Cled James have funded DAB radios and a hamper for Y Banwy Ward at Bronglais Hospital.

Rosemary James, Cled’s wife, purchased DAB radios and a hamper of treats for staff as a thank you for the care her late husband received while on the ward.

Rosemary said: “I fundraised as I wanted to give something back to Y Banwy Ward as a thanks to the staff who showed much dedicated care and kindness to my husband during his final weeks of life.

“I also wanted to provide something for the other patients to help aid their relaxation and provide some elements of enjoyment during their stay on the ward.

“My husband and other patients enjoyed listening to music with the staff, and after consultation with the ward, it transpired that they needed more radios so that they could provide individual patients with the use of a radio if required. I also provided a hamper of edible treats for the staff, as a thank you and an acknowledgement of their dedication to the ward and their patients.”

Darren Jones, Senior Nurse, said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to Rosemary James for donating the DAB radios and a hamper to Y Banwy Ward in memory of her late husband.

“They’ve put a huge smile on our staff’s faces.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
