Town’s Scout hut engulfed by fire

A former scout hut at Parc Stephens in Kidwelly has been damaged by fire.

Emergency services were called to the fire at around 5pm today. Four fire engines wee in attendance and Station Road was temporarily closed while the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service sourced water from a local hydrant.

Dwr Cymru also issued a notice to inform residents that there would be a drop in water pressure.

One local resident said that they could smell the smoke from their home some distance away from the hut. A small crowd gathered to watch events unfold. The cause of the fire is as yet unknown.
