Choirs in fine voice on St. David’s Day

Llanelli is renowned for its singing. Many local choirs have graced stages across the world.

St. David’s Day was a great excuse for two  choirs to visit the town centre. Cor Curiad and Llanelli Male Voice Choir performed a number of songs in the St Elli Centre and in the market.

People gathered around to enjoy the singing, which included that Llanelli anthem, Sosban Fach.

The choirs also made an appearance on ITV’s This Morning.

Shop windows were decked with daffodils and Welsh dragons and of course there was plenty of cawl on offer around the town.

There was also a St David’s Day parade in the town with local schools and organisations taking part. Children were dressed in traditional Welsh costumes, with some dressed as dragons.
