Police appeal for witnesses following robbery in Llanelli

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses to a robbery which was reported in Llanelli at just after midnight today (Saturday, June 21).

A man is reported to have snatched a handbag from the victim as she was walking along Glenalla Road, before pushing her to the ground.

The man was described as around 5ft 8in tall, of slender build, with dark hair, and heavy eyebrows, and was wearing blue shorts and a navy jumper.

He ran off in the East Gate direction, and possibly down the side of Ffwrnes theatre onto Water Street.

The victim’s bag was described as a grey leather drawstring bag with a crocheted mandala design, and contained a purse, keys, a power bank, and a tablet box with medication in.

We’d like to hear from anyone who saw a man running from the Glenalla Road or College Hill area at around 12.10am, or who has seen any items that might have been discarded.

There will be an additional police presence in the area today as officers carry out enquiries.
