Reform UK Wales Unveils Senedd Candidates for Carmarthenshire

Reform UK Wales has unveiled its full list of candidates for the Sir Gaerfyrddin (Carmarthenshire) constituency ahead of the Welsh Parliament Senedd elections on 7 May 2026. Leading the list is Gareth Beer, Reform UK’s lead candidate and Carmarthenshire Branch Chairman. A local businessman, father of four, and Kidwelly town councillor, Gareth also serves as Reform UK’s Carmarthenshire Chairman. In the July 2024 General Election, he came within just 1,500 votes of winning the Llanelli seat, delivering Reform UK’s strongest performance in Wales and demonstrating the growing demand for change across the region.

Gareth Beer said: “I am absolutely pleased with this outstanding list of candidates. Carmarthenshire now has a strong team of decent, hard-working people who are ready and waiting to represent the people of Carmarthenshire in the Senedd.

“We have already started campaigning strongly across the constituency, and the reception we are receiving on the doorstep has been overwhelmingly positive. People have had enough of the lies they hear from our politicians and want to give a new party a genuine chance to make real changes to the current status quo at Cardiff Bay.

“We already have a strong base of active members and volunteers who are ready to get out there to listen to the residents, engage with them, and spread the word on how Reform can deliver the change Wales desperately needs.

“Each of us got involved with Reform UK because we have had enough of what has been happening to Wales, the endless NHS waiting lists, the decline in education standards, the struggling economy, the rising cost of living, and the madness of net zero policies that are harming our communities and landscapes.”

The full Reform UK list for Sir Gaerfyrddin / Carmarthenshire is as follows:

Gareth Beer, Local businessman, father of four, Kidwelly Town Councillor and Carmarthenshire Reform UK Chairman. Gareth is a passionate advocate for free speech, a strong supporter of farmers and rural communities, and is committed to creating opportunities for young people across Wales.

Carmelo Colasanto, Father of two, County and Community Councillor, and retail and business professional with extensive senior experience in compliance, international standards, and crime and loss prevention in FTSE 100 and multinational companies. Having first worked in Llanelli 27 years ago, he moved to the town nine years ago after developing a deep attachment to the area and its people. He is standing to deliver real change for a fairer and more prosperous Wales.

Sarah Edwards, Retired dental professional, smallholder, and passionate advocate for local communities and the Welsh countryside. A committed “No Pylons” campaigner, she strongly opposes the wholesale industrialisation of Wales’ green and pleasant landscapes.

Christopher Brooke, Originally from Wrexham and now living in Sir Gaerfyrddin. A retired engineer and manager with 46 years’ experience in high-speed industrial manufacturing at a multinational company. He decided to stand for Reform UK because he could no longer watch Wales sink into decline.

Alan Cole, Experienced senior corporate leader with LG Electronics and Sanyo (responsible for UK & Ireland), former director at HomeServe plc (FTSE 500), and board director of an independent national retailer which he helped grow from £9m to £65m turnover. For the last 15 years he has run his own business supporting thousands of small businesses across South Wales in conjunction with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

“The economy will never grow without small business growth. Small businesses account for 99% of the private sector and employ 62% of the workforce in Wales. Reform are the only party that will champion small business.”

Alan who was born and brought up in South Wales, has three daughters and six grandchildren. He joined Reform UK because he believes it is the last hope to fix broken Britain.

Michelle Beer, Mum of four, marketing and PR professional, and Reform UK County Councillor for the Lliedi ward in Llanelli. In May 2025, she delivered a historic by-election victory, stunning Labour in one of their traditional strongholds and becoming Carmarthenshire’s first-ever Reform UK councillor.
In 2023, Michelle stood with hundreds of concerned residents and families in Llanelli to oppose the proposed conversion of the iconic Stradey Park Hotel into a migrant hotel. The plans resulted in the loss of a well-known four-star hotel and nearly 100 local jobs. After sustained community protests, the Home Office dropped the proposals in October 2023.

This team brings a wealth of real-world experience from business, public service, engineering, healthcare, and community advocacy. United by a commitment to common-sense policies, the candidates aim to tackle the key issues facing Wales head-on: fixing the NHS, improving education outcomes, boosting the economy, easing the cost-of-living crisis, and rejecting damaging net zero ideology that threatens jobs, energy security, and the countryside.
Reform UK Wales is offering voters in Sir Gaerfyrddin a genuine alternative, common sense policies and a fresh start with candidates who are passionate about the people and communities they seek to represent.
