Significant growth in Women’s cricket in Carmarthenshire

Llangennech Women's Cricket Squad

Women’s Cricket has experienced significant growth and recognition in Carmarthenshire with many clubs forming around the area.

Llangennech CC have worked alongside locals to form the first ever Women’s Cricket Team providing an excellent opportunity for female cricketers.

The New team is expecting to play local games competing against clubs in Carmarthenshire like Felinfoel and Carmarthen Wanderers.

On July the 4th, Llangennech CC hosted a mixed girls U11’s festival held in Llangennech Park with over 60 children participating.

The Women’s squad took to the field at the mini festival hosting games with Gorseinon CC and Mumbles CC that provided a great opportunity for Women of all skill levels to participate in the sport.

There is a growing focus on Women’s Cricket with more women across Wales participating and taking advantage of the opportunity to play the sport.

Cricket Wales have announced that they will be holding new Cricket Hubs for girls in Pontardawe Leisure Centre during Winter.
