Beaumaris Lifeboat launches in search of paddle-boarders in distress

AT 6.15 pm on Monday the 26 June 2023, the volunteer crew members of the Beaumaris lifeboat launched on exercise near Penmon point but at 6.59 pm they received a tasking request from H.M. Coastguard relating to two paddleboarders reported to be in difficulties by Benllech beach.

The Moelfre Inshore Lifeboat Enfys was also tasked by the H.M. Coastguard to assist with the search.

The Moelfre lifeboat located the two paddleboarders already back ashore and went to check that all was well, and that they did not require any assistance.

Upon confirmation of this fact the H. M. Coastguard stood down the Beaumaris lifeboat which then resumed her exercise eventually returning to Beaumaris at 8.25 pm.

A RNLI spokesperson said, ‘It was great example of cooperation between the two stations in responding to this service call out’.
